Together, your Canon DV camcorder and FS-4 DTE Recorder are the future of digital video for ENG, field production,
the desktop, and the studio.
Go From Shooting To Editing In Just Seconds. Eliminate time-consuming, real-time
capturing with the FireStore FS-4 and FS-4 Pro Portable DTE Recorder and any Canon camcorder. Thanks to Direct To Edit™
(DTE) technology, you simply shoot, then connect your FS-4 to your Mac or PC editing system like a normal FireWire hard disk
drive.
You can then use your FS-4 as your media source and begin editing immediately -- without spending hours capturing, and without
worrying about file transfer and file conversion. Thanks to DTE technology, acquisition and capturing become a single process.
Or, you can transfer your media clips to your NLE's media drive -- at four times real-time.
Convert To Any NLE File
Format You Require. With the FS-4, you can record files to disk as:
- RawDV
- AVI Type 1
- AVI Type 2 (for Adobe Premiere)
- AVI Type 2 24p
- Matrox AVI
- Canopus AVI
- QuickTime or QuickTime 24p (for Apple Final Cut)
With the FS-4 Pro, you can also record files to disk as:
- MXF
- Pinnacle AVI
- Avid DV-OMF (for Avid Xpress DV)
Recording Capacity That Doesn't Limit You. You can keep on recording
because the FS-4 comes standard with a 40GB hard drive for 3 hours of shooting. The FS-4 Pro is available with a 40GB, or
an 80GB drive that lets you shoot for up to 6 hours. You can even record for up to 12 hours by linking two FS-4 units together.

Designed for Portability and Easy, Dependable Use. The FS-4 -- the smallest FireStore ever -- weighs in at
less than one pound (with removable battery pack) and measures a mere 1.5 inches in thickness. This compact design means you
can mount it directly to the hot shoe adaptor of your Canon camcorder OR clip it directly to your belt. And, it's as durable
as it is compact, with a 10-second shock cache that ensures you never lose a moment of video.
Effortless Operation -- because all audio, video, timecode and control information is passed through a single FireWire
cable connecting the FS-4 to your Canon camcorder. Then, with every recording start and stop, an individual clip is created
on disk. Plus, operation is made easy with a comprehensive backlit display and menu system.
With the FS-4 Pro, you
also get retro-record mode so you never miss a shot. Scene Marking of clips makes it possible for clips to be organized into
folders while you shoot. And, you get user-defined time lapse and loop playback modes.
The FS-4 Becomes Your Simple
Confidence-Recording Solution by recording to your FS-4 and to tape simultaneously. The FS-4 is immune to tape drop-outs,
providing you with a clean edit source in addition to an archive on tape.
